Dozens of English print manga are impossible to acquire via "official" means because they went out of print and licensing was LOST during the Manga Publishing Crash at the end of the 2000s. Ex-TokyoPop staff during layoffs were quoted as saying other publishers wouldn't spend the money or time to save lost licensing because it was cheaper to just fill the hole in the market with their already acquired and new series. I am willing to bet the 52$ copy of Strawberry Marshmallow below is a beat up ex-library copy with wear and marks all over it - because it always is if its under 70$.

Archival sites will always be important unless everyone becomes very fluent in all languages real fast-like. It's good to pay the creator for their content, and there are means to do so - but that doesn't make unavailable content any more available.

Archival sites are being taken down left and right in-full for single publisher's vendettas and official online platforms, like Fakku are being met with pressure from credit Card Processors to remove anything that might dare offend their religious sensibilities.

If you don't see how this can cause accessibility issues you are either blind or snobbishly rich.

Oh and for some series the comments would add context that the novels had but were skipped over or shortened in the manhwa/manhua. I liked that! It made some scenes make 100x more sense
