YEMEN
•Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi rebels accused each other of fresh attacks yesterday.
•Saudi said a Houthi drone crossed a “red line” when it entered prohibited airspace around Mecca, but the Houthis strenuously denied targeting Islam’s holiest city and called Saudi’s claim “a worn-out lie that has been used before and no longer fools anyone.”
•Meanwhile, the NYT published a well-researched report about the Houthis’ use of artificial intelligence to develop new, homegrown guided weapons as Saudi Arabia choked off their flow of arms from Iran in recent years.
•The Houthis still rely on Iran for the most sophisticated components in their weapons, but being able to build the rest themselves gives them more flexibility to wage their war against government forces and the Saudis who back them. That’s particularly useful at a time when Iran is mired in its own conflict.

VENEZUELA
•Colombian businessman Alex Saab pleaded guilty to a single charge of money laundering in a Miami court as part of a plea deal with American investigators.
•Saab was a close ally of former Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, who U.S. forces captured in January and is now imprisoned in New York awaiting trial on narcotrafficking charges. Prosecutors expect Saab to testify against Maduro in exchange for leniency.

LIBYA
•Members of Libya’s Petroleum Facility Guard (PFG) – which is charged with providing security for the country’s oil facilities – instead tampered with some of the infrastructure they’re supposed to protect by shutting a valve on the main Hamada-Zawiya crude-loading pipeline. The resulting pressure change forced the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to stop production at the Hamada, Tahara and NC5 fields.
•The PFG is stirring trouble to force the prime minister’s office to agree to its demand to be transferred “financially ‌and administratively under the National Oil Corporation” – presumably because the NOC would pay its guards better than the Ministry of Defense does now. It threatened more shutdowns if its demands aren’t met.

UKRAINE
•Pres. Trump said Russia and Ukraine agreed to abstain from attacking each other’s energy facilities.
•Both sides indicated that they were open to such an agreement, but their continued strikes on each other’s energy infrastructure showed that they consider it more of a proposal than a done deal.
•Pres. Zelensky said Ukraine would only honor its end of an energy ceasefire if Russia does the same and the U.S. guarantees the truce, but added that he was “not confident” Russia would comply.

U.S.
•Speaking at a conference near Washington, Air Force Secretary Troy E. Meink confirmed that the U.S. has placed weapons in Earth’s orbit. It was the first time an official has publicly confirmed that the U.S. has weapons in space.
•China and Russia – who are both known to be working on their own space weapons – both launched objections, and the Kremlin said it would lobby for an international consensus on demilitarizing space.

CAPTURED: Another FBI Most Wanted Fraudster.

This is the 6th Most Wanted Fraudster captured since the creation of the new list three months ago – and yet another high value target captured overseas. Subjects captured so far have been responsible for a combined over $2 billion in fraud and were on the run for over 4,000 days collectively prior to arrest.

EMYLEE THAI – a subject on the run since 2022 – has been arrested after allegedly defrauding Medicare for over $100 million. She was arrested in Vietnam and was believed to be hiding there since at least 2023. FBI is actively working with our partners to secure her return to the United States.

Thai is charged with offenses including Conspiracy to Commit Health Care Fraud and Conspiracy to Defraud the United States, among others.
