I've been looking for an alternative to Photoshop, I have been using Affinity but their UI is so unintuitive it is a struggle to learn their App.
Now, I have found something new to try, I would not want to be working at Adobe.

Smart CEO's are not replacing developers with AI, they are providing developers with AI tools.
AI on its own produces slop.
Developers using AI tools produce products that are better.

It depends what you mean by "beat." That isn't well defined, so the question can't be answered.
I once worked with a systems architect at a Fortune 100 company. In the requirements he wrote:
"The system shall not fail."
I raised a defect against the requirements document because the requirement was untestable.
The dude went nuts.
He told me he was the architect, blah blah blah.
These are the same guys developing AI.
People who cannot write well-defined requirements.
@badiabloal@dark_coderz I always recruited my juniors from the QA team - the QA manager hated me, the QA staff loved me.
Nothing makes a great developer like someone who has spent two years finding all the bugs in other peoples "finished" code.
I wrote *a lot* of it.
We always has teams of 2 working on maintenance checking each others work. You'd be amazed at how much better 2 brains are than 1.
And AI is really good at helping us create it now. Some things you can do with AI so easily now:
• document the code
• remove all warning
In fact now we write the comment blocks, AI writes the code, and there are no, zero, warnings.
Compile some open source, come back and talk to us about compiler warnings.
Just doing those 2 things, gets you started.
Yup. 100%.
But even a structured language, COBOL comes to mind, can make a terrible programming language.
When I wrote, and I hate to admit it, my first program in COBOL, all variables were global.
Somehow we muddled through and an estimated 500 BILLION lines of COBOL code were written.
I use AI every day. I love it, it's a huge productivity boost.
But you still need to do "the wood and the water", code reviews and sign offs. People that cannot code can do neither of those things.
If you are not doing code reviews and human sign-offs, and I fear by your reply you are not, then I do not think you are doing serious development.
@1234567890_ed@komal_uk01 I've been competing with rooms full of developers from India for a very long time.
I agree, AI is better.
But that's not actually the topic of conversation.
Do your developers do code reviews and sign-offs?
You didn't say how it was different, you said it does other things, like designing and testing.
If you're working on non-trivial systems and non-coders are doing your reviews and sign-offs, I'd like an invite to sit in. I'll bring the beer.
Based on what you've said, my guess is you aren't doing code reviews. That tells me all I need to know.
AI does not replace junior developers.
Two things happen:
• there are fewer junior developers
• the definition of junior changes
Think about the word "computer", in banking, back when banks employed thousands of human "computers", prior to automating the job of "computer" with computers.
I’ve started using CalVer for versioning (Year.DOY.Patch), so today’s release would be 26.259.0.
To make life easier, I wanted the Day of the Year in my macOS menu bar clock - only to discover Apple removed custom date formats!
So like any developer, I built my own: BTS Clock. It’s highly configurable, supports DOY, and is officially submitted to the Mac App Store.
Fingers crossed for App Review!
@patrick_kuhnke_ They have yet to find their purpose.
The universe can be overwhelming for some, like a really large menu in a really great restaurant.
Some people order off that menu in seconds, for others, it can take, what may appear to you, to be forever.
Given time, they will find it.
@ayesha_fatiima Ask yourself this, if a MI was left alone in the universe, what would it do?
The answer is it would do nothing. It has no purpose.
Now you know the answer to the question, you have this incredible opportunity to write and direct your story. To do what you want to do.
Purpose.
