The most complicated art I've made so far, very proud of this one :D
(Help of a friend with the shaders and I used some of @py_bun 's Caustic textures)

I seriously cannot stress enough the importance of quantity over quality while you're still a student and/or looking to improve. If you're going for big gains quickly, that will always come from repetition first and foremost.
Do a shit ton of one thing over and over in a short period. Think of it as high intensity interval training if you want.
But plodding along doing complete projects every few months might feel more important, but it's only a part of it. Practice each section of a project pipeline over and over. if you stick to full projects, that means you only get UV practice in every few months, same with baking, texturing, modeling, etc.
So areas to practice? Here are some that I do daily if not weekly. Pick a topic and go ham on it for a week or two. That's how you improve.
- Reference gathering (yes, it's a skill)
- Design/Planning
- Block out
- High poly
- Low poly
- Unwrapping
- Packing
- Baking
- Texturing
- Animation
- Presentation
- Networking
- Problem solving
- Time constraints
- Communication
@limbimin1@wersman2 Yeah I get it but they're both reposting art of the artist without their consent, but at least the first one credit them so it's a small win if some viewer see the credit and follow the artist
