Looking toward 2026, our Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) engineers are beginning to prepare for next year’s launch rehearsals.
Throughout 2025, our engineers will build out the mission control center in Palo Alto for these rehearsals. We’ve recently received the voice communication systems and camera that will help us achieve this feat.
For those who have worked on PPE since the beginning, the construction of the mission control center is an exciting milestone on our journey to the moon!

Our partners at Busek have started testing the flight thrusters for the Power Propulsion Element (PPE). Our long-standing collaborative effort to develop new, high powered electric thrusters in the United States is finally at a stage where we can see the fruits of our progress. These thrusters, built and tested at Busek, are bringing us one step closer to the moon.

#OneWebLaunch20 is a success! 🚀
We are delighted to confirm that we have now successfully made contact with all 20 satellites launched today with @SpaceX.
#OneWebLaunch19 with @SpaceX will be a ride-share with @IridiumComm.
The payload stack includes Iridium’s satellites on top, with our @OneWebSatellit1 satellites below.

To orbit the Moon, we’re getting some help from the Sun!
Gateway’s solar electric propulsion system will use the Sun’s energy to ionize and accelerate Xenon, producing highly efficient thrust to keep the small space station orbiting the Moon.
