I have some family in that area. One startS undergrad this fall for CS. He's blocks away from your HQ. As soon as I saw that I knew he'd have no problems doing cool and useful stuff and building an awesome career. I'm jealous. In my part of Alberta in 2005-2010 the career path from CS was literally just don't. It still is π«€
When human knowledge leaves the company it's often complete, with poor hand overs if any to try to preserve it. Obviously the AI knowledge never leaves, but the people with the knowledge to leverage it do. How do you solve human organizational continuity when people turn over but didn't have the direct knowledge in the first place? How do you get new people up to speed when handed a monalith of information that needs to be queried rather than browsed?
@blametrudeau@wealthmoose It also denies you of 12 months of investment opportunity. The taxes aren't due until the end of the filing period.
I suppose this guarantees the government income against people yoloing it away on GME and then not being able to pay π€·
@Iain0115@beeker_16 I looked at the F1 race in Montreal. Literally more expensive to sit on grass there than to fly to Spain and get grandstand seats in Barcelona
Define social media. I don't want my kids on Facebook or x or reddit yet, but I do want them to be able to access YouTube (except shorts), discord (servers that I allow), and Steam. All of these have social elements without being "social networks". Where's the cut off and why can't I police this for my own kids?
@NWOBruh@notsure390@muellerberndt I'm not saying that things under influence of gravity don't follow the paths predicted by the spacetime curvature model. I just think there's a physical reality to spacetime itself. I think there's a mechanism we're missing that produces that result.
Coughs in spacetime. Same idea, curved spacetime is a useful tool and matches observation extremely well, but I don't buy that it's anything more than a math model. There is some interaction mechanism between energy and matter (concentrated energy) causing velocity trades between 3D coordinates and time where gains and losses in one mirror in the other. We have no idea what that interaction is, but invoking spacetime as a physical medium is just reintroducing the ether.
