okay. if you look up how many men go to superhero movies vs women there is a noticeable gap in these numbers.

if you look up female led superhero movies you will notice the majotity of them bombed as well.

Brie Larson was right.

Out of 296 Rotten Tomatoes reviews that I looked at, 211 (71%) are by men and 85 (29%) are by women.

113/211 (53%) of men’s reviews are negative while only 22/85 (25%) of women’s are negative.

There are more negative film reviews of Supergirl by men then there are reviews written by women in total. So it doesn’t matter that women overwhelmingly liked the movie: their opinions are barely registering.

I think there should be some way to weigh film reviews to reflect the target demographics of the intended audience, personally.

But I’ll be writing a piece for @NewSalemNews out hopefully later this week with all of my thoughts.
