BREAKING: Tom Lee's BitMine has bought $74,000,000 worth of Ethereum.
In total, they hold 5,742,237 $ETH worth over $10 billion, or 4.8% of the total supply.
Tom Lee predicts $62,000 ETH in long term.
🔥 Vitalik Buterin just shared Ethereum’s updated long-term roadmap after a researchers meeting in Berlin.
He calls the next phase “Lean Ethereum” — a series of upgrades that will roll out over the next 3 to 4 years. This is positioned as Ethereum’s third major iteration, on the same level as The Merge.
Key focuses include:
- Making the protocol quantum-safe to protect against future quantum computers
- Treating privacy as a first-class goal from the start (not an afterthought)
- Big improvements in scalability through new consensus design, multidimensional gas, and smarter state storage
- Using recursive STARKs for much more efficient verification instead of re-executing everything
- Exploring a new VM (likely leanISA or RISC-V) alongside or on top of the EVM for better performance and privacy
Vitalik stressed that the changes will minimize disruption for existing apps. Many use cases (like ERC20s and NFTs) can optionally switch to new, more efficient state formats and get over 10x lower fees, but it’s not required.
