I appeared before the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare, chaired by Senator Julius Murgor, where we highlighted the role of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund in advancing the Government’s labour mobility agenda.
Through the Kazi Majuu Programme, the Fund has disbursed over KSh 424 million under the Labour Mobility Loan product, enabling thousands of young Kenyans to access employment opportunities abroad.
The Committee was also briefed on the progress of Kenya’s preparations for AFCON 2027, including ongoing works at the Raila Odinga International Stadium–Talanta, Kasarani Stadium, and other host venues.
Through a Whole-of-Government approach, we remain on course to deliver the infrastructure and systems required to meet CAF standards and successfully co-host a memorable continental tournament.
I was accompanied by Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs, Sports Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi, Acting CEO Youth Enterprise Development Fund Mr. Benedict Atavachi and senior Government officers.
