Happy International Museum Day!

Today, we join the rest of the world to commemorate World Museum Day under the theme "Museums as Bridges of Unity and shared Heritage," with an intentional spotlight on the @RailwaymuseumUg located along the Jinja-Iganga highway in @jinjacity, featuring our recent visit with @KyomugishaSara4.

Housed in one of Jinja's oldest and historical buildings constructed in 1928, the museum contains artifacts from the days before the railway in Uganda, the life during the early days of railway development, the era of colonial expansion & railways after independence.

The Railway Museum has overtime become a powerful platform for tourism promotion, unifying community, and a booster of economic transformation.

As Things Jinja, we remain committed to showcasing the rich cultural history, vibrant tourism potential, and hidden gems of our beautiful city, ensuring that legacy institutions like the Uganda Railway Museum continue to inspire both locals and visitors alike.

Lord Justice Egonda Ntende’s powerful parting shot hit hard: Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro locked up on a minor, obscure and unproven charge while his wife Edith Katende Mufumbiro lost her battle with cancer. Their young children had to mourn and bury their mother alone. No child should endure this pain. Justice without compassion is empty; it must have a soul.
