News has broken that Juliet Slot, Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, is leaving the club and as a fan, I am gutted.

Slot has been instrumental in powering up Arsenal’s finances, enabling higher squad spending in recent years that has served as the platform for success on the pitch.

She joined the club half way through the 21/22 season and straight away, started renegotiating major sponsorship contracts for Arsenal, as well as securing completely new ones.

In fact, Slot and her team signed up 15 new sponsors in 25/26 alone, which should contribute another £65m per annum moving forward! (per @Lu_Class_ )

Aided by Mikel’s amazing work and improvements on the pitch, Slot and her team helped Arsenal enjoy some of European football’s fastest growth in commercial revenues since she joined, as illustrated in the chart below.

Arsenal were playing catch up and boy did she help make that happen.

She has helped put Arsenal in a position to rival the richest European clubs for financial power. In fact, in big part thanks to her incredible work on the commercial side, Arsenal will post the Premier League’s all-time record revenue in Financial Year 2026 (yes, more than Manchester City has ever recorded).

No two ways about it - losing her is a massive blow. I can only hope that the Board is weighing up some major executive appointments to the club. Ideally, incredibly competent and capable heavy hitters who can help the club commercially and strategically.

Regardless, Juliet Slot deserves her flowers and the gratitude of Arsenal fans everywhere 💐💐💐
