In 2016 on Christmas day, I will never forget it.
Fulani herdsmen attacked my village, killed my cousins and other family members, burnt down my grandparents house, my uncles houses and people's houses. We spent our Christmas running for our lives.

Since then, anytime farmers go to the farm they don't always come back alive.

In 2021 my grandmother and my aunties went to the farm, they all were butchered, cut to pieces by herdsmen except for one who survived but lost her hand because they thought she was de@d.

On the 12 of December, the same village, some people were in the farm harvesting beans as usual, Fulani herdsmen came with their cows and started eating the beans, the women spoke to the Fulani herdsmen to remove their cows and they started attacking them, all of them ran for their lives except for one who fell down and Fulani herdsmen were able to amputate her hand and cut her shoulders. But thank God she was able to escape.

Yesterday @instablog9ja and @SaharaReporters posted it and told people she was attacked because her family rejected a marriage proposal by Fulani herdsmen. They changed the narrative and made everyone believe she was attacked because of a marriage proposal. This is the same village that has always been under attack by Fulani herdsmen since 2016.

I may not have a big voice here or a lot of followers but I'll not keep quiet and allow you to lie to everyone about this.

In 1963, the famous photographer Richard Avedon took a picture of a man named William Casby. William Casby, born in 1857, was 106 years old at the time. In his hands, he was holding his great-great-granddaughter, Cherri Stamps-McCray.

The image amazes me because the elderly gentleman holding his descendant so tenderly, was born into slavery more than a century prior. Casby would eventually live until 1970, dying at the age of 113.

His great- and great-grandchildren are alive today, and many of them remember him.

It puts into perspective just how relatively recent slavery existed. Because as faraway and distant as it may feel now. Even in modern-day America, there are people who have active memories of talking to former slaves.

I almost lost a dear Junior doctor to the cold hands of death in her NYSC PPA.
She was attacked in the accommodation given to her by St Theresa's Hospital Use Abat, Ibiono Ibom. Akwa Ibom.
After the assailant tried to k*ll her, the MD of the hospital forced her to work on the second day.

We bring you good tidings from the Middle Belt.

The Middle Belt Patriots team visited IDP camps in Mangu, Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi (Gwol) yesterday. This was majorly done to interface with the victims to hear their stories directly, see the damages done, ask what help is needed- to give more insight on the intervention (from the monies contributed from the GoFundMe contributed so far)
