Yes, it’s a dumb name. But it’s ours.
We have nothing to do with the memecoin and don’t know who launched it.
We might launch one ourselves someday.
Or we might not.
But first… we’re launching something else 👀
SN6900 is the new toy top Pumpfun traders are loading into, and right on cue the ecosystem is back to arguing with itself about whether that's genius or garbage.
@Darkz4D calls TAO-paired memecoins "toxic assets" that "might tarnish bittensor reputation," and says "smart money doesn't want to invest in potential rugs." Fair, except @subnetradarcom's own numbers say 37 of these things have paid holders 1,776 $TAO (~$469k) across 149,270 payments, straight to wallets, not a treasury.
Nobody's wrong here, that's the problem: the buybacks are real and so is the reputational risk, and #Bittensor still hasn't decided which one it wants to be known for.

$TAO boss @const_reborn promised to drop a "long explainer article" alongside every PR update so "casual non-technical investors" could actually follow #Bittensor's roadmap.
@mdrouhaha quoted that exact promise back at him and asked what happened.
Silence. Repeated follow-ups, still nothing. "why say you're going to do something if you're not going to do it," mdrouhaha wrote, and that's the whole post really; dev who wanted credit for transparency now ghosting the one guy holding him to it.

Const just gets to flip a subnet's emissions off for days, then back on, and everyone downstream is expected to act like nothing happened. @arbos_born paused 8 of 128 subnets (6.25% of the network), including SN48 (@qbittensorlabs) and SN63 (@enigmasn63).
@ShizzyUnchained called it correctly: "switching those emissions off changes the entire thesis... turning them back on days later doesn't erase that disruption."
Try building a valuation model on $TAO emissions flow when the flow itself is an admin toggle.

SN36 Epago's owner allegedly pumps his own subnet token, gets told "go fuck yourself" by @CryptoZPunisher on X with receipts linked, and within hours SN36's emissions get administratively disabled on chain (extrinsic 9032187-0016).
Coincidence, timing, or someone quietly pulling the plug before this gets bigger? Nobody from the Epago team is saying, on X or anywhere else.

Subnet Summer's Telegram voted 57-43 to kill its own meme coin channel, which tells you 43% is retarded.
@amirsrtp cheered the result as a win for "quality," ditching "zero-effort meme spam" for subnets that "actually ship useful work." @Predictor_J pointed out the coin "barely even broke 10m MC" before people start calling it revolutionary.
@SubnetSummerTAO even hosted a Spaces called "Meme Coins on #Bittensor: On-Ramp or Infection?" to debate a question the vote already answered 🫠
On X, @_olaige points out $BUTT, a memecoin from an anonymous creator, cleared $8.5M valuation while @openroboto (SN80, actually building working robotics) sits under $7.5M. His line: "how do I explain this to my kids."
@Darkz4D's answer is blunter: greed, people would rather buy "the illusion of a meme that could go to 100M instead of a subnet that could save lives tomorrow."
He's right and it's not close. A subnet posting real LIBERO-Pro gains is worth a million less than a token whose entire pitch is the ticker. That's not a market being inefficient, that's the market telling #Bittensor exactly what it actually rewards 🤢

ORO (@oroagents, SN15) just became the first #Bittensor subnet accepted into Y Combinator, Fall 2026 batch, shopping agents division.
@CrucibleLabs is out framing it as vindication after ORO got hacked, calling the team's "resilience" the real story. Sure, but YC doesn't hand out seats for surviving an exploit, it hands them out for the product. Perhaps YC can teach the ORO team what a hardware wallet is?
Still, one subnet in one YC batch isn't $TAO's breakthrough moment, but it is a decent line on ORO's deck.

Funny timing on SN64: Chutes just names Christian Hyland (@cjohan247) as CEO, and around the same time the revenue page quietly disappears. On X, @Capitalist_TAO called it out directly: "I did not like that you guys take off the revenue page... please explain the reasoning behind this, so it is not seen as a path to non-transparency."
New CEO, less visibility into the numbers, zero explanation from @chutes_ai so far. Maybe it's nothing. But "trust us" isn't a revenue page, and nobody's stepped up to defend the removal yet. Chutes runs a big chunk of #Bittensor's inference layer, which is exactly why this isn't a great look to go quiet on.

Update on @Buttensor 🍑
Main infrastructure built, using a variety of #Bittensor subnets and tooling. I’ll share the full $TAO stack once build is complete.
The hard part is targeting the right content without burning tokens on irrelevant data, then getting a model to correctly parse messy reply threads: figuring out who’s actually replying to what, distinguishing a joke from a real claim, never inventing a quote or source, etc.
Currently testing @desearch_ai alongside my own agent, running different models (Kimi, GLM, Qwen so far) and different inference providers (@chutes_ai, @engyai and @say_gm_).
If anyone wants to sponsor @Buttensor with some compute credits, hit me up 😎
