Thank you @nytimes for this incredible honor. All I ever wanted to be known as, before anything else, is a songwriter. Being in the company of the genius songwriters on this list is an honor all on its own. Thank you @danamo for the illuminating interview, and @VictoriaMonet for your beautifully generous words. It means more than you know.
Mariah Carey marcou presença neste Domingo de Páscoa junto com amigos e familiares no culto de Ressurreição da Ebenezer Baptist Church, em Atlanta. Um momento especial de fé, celebração e reflexão neste domingo tão simbólico. 🤍
The streets are calling.
New Orleans artist Flagboy Giz channels the spirit of Mardi Gras Indian tradition with a powerful performance of ‘We Outside’.

Such a dream come true to perform (in Italian!) at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony. Thank you to everyone who made this happen, Nothing Is Impossible! 💕🇮🇹
“I’m grateful to work alongside someone who advocates so steadfastly for songwriters.” 💯 @MariahCarey presents @UMPG’s Jody Gerson with the Executive of the Decade award at Billboard Power 100 during Grammys week.
I’m really disappointed in Nicki Minaj.
I worked with her. Her stylist at the time was trans. I was there. I made the clothes. She wore my headpieces and stepped out in full looks I created. Back then she didn’t seem to have a problem with trans or LGBTQIA+ people when we were helping shape her image.
She was a nightmare client but she paid ridiculously well. I liked her, even though she could be disrespectful. I once spent £25,000 on a dress for her that she cancelled at the last minute. Luckily I got to keep it, play in it and build a whole collection around it. The looks everyone remembers created by a trans person, who bent over backwards for her.
One night at the AMAs we made these incredible trousers to go with her jacket. She cut them into some strange shape and walked out looking like she was wearing a diaper. I remember one of the big media outlets tweeting: “Nicki Minaj’s worst use of an adult diaper.” It was embarrassing.
It’s sad to see her go down this path. To turn on the very community that stood behind her, lifted her up, dressed her, styled her, celebrated her. Some of us are still here. Watching her lose the love from the LGBTQIA+ community she once worked so hard to gain.
