I did not realize that Netflix was using AI to dub voiceovers for foreign films.
If they think those voices sound good at all they really need to hire someone new to listen to these. There’s no inflection and it all just sounds like a YouTube video voiceover.
Youtube letting AI uploads be a thing has flooded YouTube with 10,000 videos of the same thing worded 100 different ways but offering nothing new. YouTube now has 0 idea on what you might like to watch next and can’t even keep track of what you have already watched.
Finding stuff to watch in YouTube is getting hard AF. I used to be able to be taken in a journey from1 thing to another. Now all my feed is the same 5-6 topics with 30 options a piece and “new to you” is old shit I have seen already. 1/?
developing a highly interactive VR visual novel really is many orders of magnitude more complicated than a flat screen one..
it's at a awkward spot where traditional VN companies could not possibly have the talent to make one in VR and the companies that do never would.
so PROJECT MIX is really something that's only happening due to special circumstances
@iansabout87@QuestWithMatt Investors thoughts 2019-2020 were real gaming numbers. Who would have thought millions locked up at home with nothing to do would choose to do something they have never done before. Then after they could go back outside they stopped playing games as much. Investors r pulling out.
Iron Guard franchise on Quest :
- IronGuard : 55.500 players ( available on H+).
- IronGuard Salvation : 4300 players.
We understand the exodus towards the flat screen.

@benz145 I don’t think Valve really cares about how much they sell. They just have people that like VR. Besides the price point of a hypothetical $800 3 years ago vs a $500 quest 3 would not move the needle.
I’m not saying this is good nor do I want this. But PCVR used to be the place that would be more critical of a game if it didn’t feel VR enough. Now seems like the place that will take a flat game and mod it. VR will take the Bethesda route.
“Modders will do it” - Bethesda

Would love to hear from devs on if they think UEVR has damaged the VR dev market in any meaningful way. At least IMO from an investment standpoint if PCVR users are now ok with modding their own games why not make your game flat first and not worry about doing VR at all. 1/2
I’m still excited for the future of VR. However I think we will start seeing more and more hybrid games from both future and ex devs of VR. Flat will be the focus for the foreseeable future with the VR side of things getting minimal attention if there is funding at all.
@officialtavr Depends on how much extra resources (memory) this would need vs putting more resources into the AI and how that works. Better AI means more realism and that IMO is much more immersive than GFX.
Valve added new documentation for Steam Frame’s compatibility requirements
“With the release of Steam Frame, we're bringing the Steam library to a new portable form factor”
It hints to Proton improvements over time, and how to enable improved reprojection tech for your VR games
