@MannyMensahMM Also, the answer is obviously: finishing. We had more chances in the first 10 minutes than we had the entirety previous games. They don't go in and we deflate. Marmoush can't play in the box, or at the 10, and Solanke is a leaf being carried away by the wind.
@GaryRWard So.......you knew he'd have trouble getting to full fitness and sought zero cover for him after Spence left? And stunted Archie's growth in the process? Wonderful. Fucking genius this guy. Sick of him. Go to hell.
@TezzaClock@GaryRWard Exactamundo. He assembled a squad thats not necessarily bad but has to be squeezed into making sense. He's not making any of the right calls and putting them behind the 8 ball when it comes to cohesive play. His tactics are for shit, too. They are plenty fit.
@GaryRWard Play Maddison until he drops. If you wait on him to "rebuild", he'll be fully washed by then. Play Udogie, it makes no sense not to. Robertson cannot start or play 60+. Drop Solanke, its not fitness, he's cooked. Tonali looks fine honestly. Play the double pivot with Ferandes.
@GaryRWard In short: I think the fitness thing is a cop-out from a guy who is failing in front of the whole country and cannot keep hiding behind this "tactical genius" bullshit gimmick. He's way out of his depth and is not helping them win.
@GaryRWard RDZ did not build a terrible roster, but he built one that doesn't really cohere into successful football. A handful of men out of strongest (or only) position, antiquated tactics he refuses to evolve and just constantly actively not putting his guys in best functionality to win.
@LastWordOnSpurs He's not wrong, but that only goes for the first 20-25 minutes (sound familiar?). Maybe things look better if Fernandes plays in the 8 and isn't taken out, Bentancur doesnt play a full 90, and Solanke is left off the squad.
@TheSpursWatch Sack him. Not because we haven't won, but because he has shown he is far too stubborn to change the tactics that result in incoherent lineups, players out of position, poor roster construction and inability to physically match our opponents in the league.
@MannyMensahMM Does that harness the issues or hide them? Obviously if we put in our chances and win, we win games. But guys are being played in their weakest positions, sub decisions are senseless, the attack has no cohesion & the midfield is a tactical mess. JPH least of the problems IMO.
@MikeyHotspurs Very much looks that way. If a smart team like Brighton pays that much for a guy with no minutes, it means a lot. But RDZ wanted his big skinny Dutch boy. Who isn't even bad. But it was a colossal error from a stubborn little man with no roster vision.
@paulcWHL@AlasdairGold I hate to go to the money zone because the money is fake to ownership. But yes. Marmoush doesn't look fit to start and Solanke is simply cooked. Other issues. Midfielders are not assembled well and can't play together. Defense so fragile.
@Tottenham_Feed "We must learn to score." This feels like a farce. If that's where we're at, we might as well be a League Two side. We literally can't do the only thing that wins games. The chances were there in the first half and they can't put them in. Making Suzuki look like Schmeicel.
@RickySacks How much should we hammer RDZ for insisting on jettisoning Vuskovic and bringing on JPVH? I like JPVH but it might prove to be a net loss. I'm massively skeptical of his roster construction, squad assembly and player profiling.
@RickySacks Spot-on. But the blame is important. Do RDZ's tactics render us in chances where you can't rifle in shots with power and space? Or is it that the players are not good enough? That would also be RDZ's mistake but I'm more willing to wait & bring in firepower in the next window.
