@UncleRussty@Derby_Dazzler@WayneRooney Save Derby LLC is registered in Utah (we're a group in both UK and US). Sean played with the Utah Salt Ratz. The company is bootstrapping (meaning efforts to this point have been self funded by its members).
@heatrockz The DAOs should be legal cooperatives! DAOs are perfectly suited to be cooperatives, but VCs and angel investors will NEVER tell you that (because co-ops disseminate wealth instead of concentrating it).
@daofootballclub We need to talk! We just spoke with another DAO group aiming to buy a football club. We'd be far better off if we joined forces to make this happen. Please DM!
@biggaz29@MaxiRobriguez @AshFazzer16 @NottinghamGupta @ramswriter You may make donations in Bitcoin and ETH at https://t.co/PO7ABmFCmf. Please tell your NFFC mates. π
@kensdavies They are buying an NFT (non-fungible token), which if we are successful in purchasing the club, will be converted into a cooperative membership. Happy to discuss more on DM or a call if you like!
@UncleRussty@Derby_Dazzler@WayneRooney There's no hiding! Our names are Sean O'Brien (a former semi-pro footballer) and Derek Sorensen (a Cambridge maths grad student). Save Derby LLC is a registered company. We've stated our names to build trust, if we can.
@kensdavies You're absolutely correct! Only a handful of people worldwide (much less in Derbyshire) know much about NFTs, blockchain etc. That's why we're appealing to blockchain communities (as well as DCFC fans) to step up and help out. DCFC's plight has attracted international attention!
@KJCORRI1 @ramswriter A fan-based buyout has certainly never been done! But these are exigent circumstances. We need to be trying new approaches. The old approach hasn't yielded satisfactory results.
@MaxiRobriguez @AshFazzer16 @NottinghamGupta @ramswriter Hah Β£2.5k each might be a little steep! We're trying to raise funds from a much broader group than only DCFC fans. We're making an appeal to all football fans to step up and help out.
@AshFazzer16 @NottinghamGupta @ramswriter The hope would be to raise sufficient funds now, not only from DCFC fans, but from the entire football-loving world. DCFC's plight has attracted an international audience, and we're asking all to pitch in.
@NottinghamGupta @ramswriter A cooperative, if you're unfamiliar, is a legal entity that's not owned by shareholders. Instead, it's owned by members, and it rewards fans' participation with a small portion of the profits (if any) of the enterprise. Happy to discuss more if you like!
@NottinghamGupta @ramswriter The initial plan is to raise sufficient funds to pay for the remainder of the season. If that succeeds, we hope to raise funds to purchase the club outright by selling NFTs (non-fungible tokens), which would double as membership in a fan-owned cooperative.
