Brand Consultant/Academic/Researcher. Neither left nor right. Equally offensive to all. Enjoys the comfort of opinion but after the discomfort of thought.
@sabeer Need solutions. Not just reiteration of problems.
Like, Hotmail was born a solution and became wild fire with the innovative use of email signature.
We might be tribal & even, pre-modern society. However we still need to evolve despite challenges. So what's for us, Picasso?
@aegismktintel@Nithin0dha Of course we can agree to disagree. The key point however is that mere use of the word (#brand) denoting a unique entity doesn't have a vector or 'intent' as you put it. And as part of language its usage doesn't infringe on the property rights of the brand owner.
@aegismktintel@Nithin0dha So when Mercedes creates demand for cars, it appropriates in its entirety, is it? You are also saying that the brand has a 'property right' on people's intentions. 🤔
@dafydd_rees Absolutely. Nothing replaces doing the deep reading yourself. The Living Library is built to be a sounding board after you read, to debate the ideas, ask questions you're stuck on, and explore the text interactively.
@aegismktintel@Nithin0dha Am sorry but that's a wrong take. Imagine someone insisting with a doctor that he would want only a particular brand of medicine! And would the doctor be wrong in suggesting alternatives? Or when a vendor offers you #Pepsi as a choice when you specifically ask for #Coke 🤔
@somilagrawal@janwhyy@rajeshsawhney#Hindware is also part of the language, a mere word to denote a unique entity. We can't seek permission or expected to pay royalty each time we speak/write #Coke. #Google isn't infringing on any of the property rights of the brand, or is it? Am unable to understand that.
@Nithin0dha If #Hindware is part of language, a mere word to denote a unique entity, then whether it's a keyword or minor word, it's immaterial. We can't seek permission or pay each time we speak or write #Coke. #Google isn't infringing on any of the property rights of the brand, or is it?

@kbssidhu1961@madversity#Rubio is pitching to be the republican nominee for the next White House.
So the photo op at Mother Theresa's must have charmed his hardcore catholic voters. Wonder who in the govt designed and signed off his itinerary. If not the visit per se, the order could have been changed
@kbssidhu1961@madversity Moreover it was totally inappropriate to allow him to start his trip with Mother Teresa's site, resurrecting extreme poverty associations when #India desperately needs a progressive image right now more than ever. Wish he had started the trip, say, with the Apple factory instead
Here comes another #Trump card♠️, Marco-in-India. Will signalling stronger US-India ties move Xi to push Iran? Nothing has moved China so far. Neither Trump's unctuous words for Xi nor the threat of arms to Taiwan. Nor the phone call to Lai #IranWar

@surjitbhalla@DilliDurAst The rent-seeking behaviour, which the economists despise, is sadly the norm of the political class in India. It was before. It is now. It hasn't changed.
Xi could have gained so much more with cooperation than confrontation. He let his obsession with Taiwan cloud his perspective. Could have easily ended the #IranWar, turned a page in the new world order and postponed the Taiwan issue for another day.
@kaushikcbasu Worrying, no doubt. India should learn and move forward. Hopefully soon, some policy changes will reflect the lessons learnt. It can't be as alarming as you make it sound!
