When I was in Wilmington on Friday, I had a conversation with someone that literally turned my stomach. Here’s how that conversation went:

Me: Where are you from?

Them: I’m from X, Y, Z. I moved to Wilmington to attend UNCW for my masters. And I stayed to be “part of the change.”

From there, the conversation descended into 26 minutes of mental torture filled with every Marxist keyword I’ve ever heard.

I was in shock.

I ended that conversation as quickly as I could. And I walked away so furious I could spit.

Let me tell you about “the change” this communist wants to be apart of in Wilmington:

👉🏼increasing violence
👉🏼rampant homelessness that negatively impacts homeowners and community safety
👉🏼rising taxes and cost of living
👉🏼gentrification that has displaced local poor families of every race and turned once affordable neighborhoods into yuppy havens where Marxists plan the takeover of the Port City
👉🏼the destruction of green spaces - including tearing down mature healthy trees in established neighborhoods
👉🏼filling in wetlands that result in more flooding and more dangerous hurricane conditions
👉🏼DSA funded benches painted with socialist propaganda on city owned property

I could go on and on.

Basically? They want to destroy the city built by my ancestors. The place I was born. My hometown.

People slip in my comments all the time and they want to know: how does this happen in sleepy little North Carolina?

I’m about to tell you. 👇🏼

The communist manifesto directs these people to attack our institutions. Most people confuse those institutions with politics.

Smh. This isn’t political, y’all. Wake up! It’s cultural.

Family. Church. Education. History. The land. Our wildlife. Even the way we talk. These things belong to our culture.

Tear down a culture. Rip out everyone’s roots. Then there’s nothing left to tie us all together. And when that happens, we are ripe to fall.

You can see it in Asheville. You can see it in Wilmington.

They’re destroying our home. Eventually, it will destroy our counties. Our states. And our country.

This is a virus that SPREADS.

It’s not going to be defeated by legislation alone. And I’m sorry, I know that no one wants to hear this but if we want to win the culture war, we’re going to have to get off of our collective butts and FIGHT.

We’re going to have to think like they think.

Do you know why the shrimping ban in NC failed? It wasn’t because of social media posts. It was because conservatives flooded Raleigh. They walked the halls of the NC Legislative Building. They DEMANDED our legislators think of the NC families a ban would hurt. 18 Wheelers circled the block blowing their horns.

That’s the kind of fighting spirit we need. And it needs to flood every town. It needs to show up to fight for every cause. You can’t give them even an inch.

How many North Carolina cities need to fall before it sinks in?
