A very special guest at Lord's this morning π
The great Sachin Tendulkar greeted the Indian squad ahead of the final day's play at the first women's Test to be held at the venue.
Oh cool, so this is why the men's team has once again stolen the focus from the women.
*slow clap*
I don't care that England are having a forgettable match, these 4 days were supposed to be about celebrating an historic moment in the women's game, and as usual a man ruins it.
It almost seems somewhat ironic yet apt that the news of the Bazball era officially coming to an end comes first out of Australia, all courtesy my New Ball partner @tommorris32 and his genius reporting, which clearly transcends borders
Join us at Lord's for the final day of England v India, with free entry for all.

See you tomorrow. π
Wow. A whole 90 seconds talking about women's cricket when that was supposed to be the entire focus of the interview.
Your middle name is Verity, Nicholas Knight - be an ally. π€‘
And Nick Knight leads with the men's team news. Despite sitting at Lord's in the middle of their first staging of a women's Test. Do better, @SkyCricket.
@legsidelizzy Yes, as TV comms have confirmed that Richard Gould had been due to be celebrating the women's game in an interview during the tea break, but now it'll be hijacked by this news.

Could the ECB have not waited 24 hours to announce that? They and their men have literally done their very very best this summer to overshadow everything the women tried to do. I'm actually really cross about this and the whole fing summer. Knives being sharpened
Sick of it being all about the Ashes every single time.
They're playing Pakistan next month, the WORLD TEST CHAMPIONS in December, Bangladesh in February & the sesquicentennial one-off match against Australia (pointlessly pink ball).
That's a lot of cricket!
BREAKING: Brendon McCullum has been sacked as England men's Test head coach after four years in the role.
He will continue as head coach of England men's white-ball teams
Aside from several hours of stress caused by spectators wandering in & out in the middle of an over, or conducting their own photoshoots and blocking my view (@HomeOfCricket sort your stewards out please), it was so good to see the women out there in their whites. #ENGvIND
Taking off my Somerset hat, it's unfair and wrong that the last round of women's and men's Blast matches have varying start times
It gives the teams that play later an advantage as they'll know what net run rate they need to aim for, if any (and whether a tie would be fine)

Hundred teams have been finding it difficult to secure shirt sponsors β 12 days before the comp, at least two have not done deals
This has led to gambling sponsors being allowed for 2026 only, before a full ban next year. 100 is styled as family friendly https://t.co/kpYjSlxWK9
Absolute madness that the start times of the final @VitalityBlast group games were only confirmed today - i.e. 3 days in advance. Do they not realise that people going to the games have to plan their travel? And that Sundays can be the worst days on public transport?
