There was a patch and this issue has been fixed as long as you turn off Enhancements in the emulator settings (by hitting Options). Thank you to everyone who spread this around. It took a long time but I’m glad it’s fixed now.
PS4 version of Sly Cooper 1 runs almost 10% faster than it should, resulting in it feeling very different and bad. This issue is not present w/ PS5 version. This video shows the Mz Ruby boss fight where the music is wildly out of sync bc of this. Please spread around and plz fix
@TheStormSage It isn’t though. This is the PS2 version and the issue is far far worse than the collection’s.
Sucker Punch isn’t responsible either but at that point I didn’t know how else to get anybody’s attention (we’ve gotten it reported now though)
@ThatGuyBwarch @ScrewyClassic PS3 Ruby is offset (by a smaller amount) but the PS5 version works fine yeah.
The PS4 issue isn’t localized; every gameplay segment runs extremely fast. Ruby is just the example I used.
@PSP_Marquez It’s an official emulation of the original PS2 game w/ no known (intended) alterations other than removing a bonus unlockable cutscene, presumably for licensing reasons.
@Robin_E94 The HD Collection’s discrepancy is much smaller since that version only runs 1.7% faster, so it’s way worse now (and is noticeable everywhere, even outside the Ruby fight)
@alxhorizon@nocontextsly At the moment we don’t know of any other differences between the two versions. Overall the PS5 one seems to be very good other than limited analog stick directions (which is present in both)
@EmilDubas Yeah, 100%’d tonight and it’s the same for me. Maybe it’s possible they changed the requirement to Platinum trophy, but I’m just speculating, it might just be not unlockable.
@XevenstevensX @Jaguar32X Just timed PAL in Hazardous Path and it’s the same as NTSC-U, both PS4 versions run 10 seconds faster in that 2:12 level compared to PS2 disc
@SmashCrafter321 We're gonna need to figure out what to do (I'm a speedrunner) but it's definitely not gonna be allowed on an even playing field, at the least.
@pocketsTW It’s much worse than the HD collection, as well. The game’s speed increased slightly on the collection (1.7%) which caused the desync, but on this release the difference it’s so drastic it’s noticeable everywhere in gameplay
