@SamMellins Named after John Throckmorton, a 17th century settler in that part of the Bronx. Although he lived there a short while, many began to call it “Throckmorton’s Neck” and eventually the classic misspelling as “Throgs Neck.” During the war of Independence, it was called “Frogs Neck.”
