First, thank you for being honest.

Most men will never say what you just said out loud. They will pretend, they will mask it with pride, they will hide behind “I’m fine.”

But you didn’t, and that already tells me something about you, you still want better.

Contrary to public opinion, at 33, you are not late, you are not finished, you are not behind in life.

You are in a season of confusion and confusion is not failure. It is a sign that your old path has ended and you haven’t defined the new one yet.

You were laid off, that’s very painful. Especially when you’ve not done anything else in 3 years. After a while, it stops being about money and starts affecting your confidence.

You begin to question your value. You start asking, “What am I even good at?”

But I want you to understand this, Three years without a job does not erase your ability. It only means your strategy needs upgrading.

Now let’s talk practically.

You have a B.A. degree, you have customer support experience.

That means you already have transferable skills: communication, problem solving, handling difficult people, systems usage, emotional intelligence.

Those are not small things.

But selling your house to chase a certificate?

Slow down.

When you feel lost, big irreversible decisions feel like action. But not all action is wisdom.

A house even a modest one is stability, security and leverage.

Selling an asset to fund uncertainty should only happen after research, validation, and a clear return path. It shouldn’t happen due to desperation.

Aviation customer support or ticketing is not a bad idea. But before you sell anything:

1. Research actual job demand.
2. Talk to people already in the field.
3. Understand salary range and entry barriers.
4. Confirm how many graduates of that certification are actually employed.

Information reduces emotional decisions.

You are confused currently because you have no structured direction.

Many men at 30+ were raised to figure it out alone. They had no mentorship, roadmap or direction.

But direction is built, not magically found.

Instead of selling your house immediately, I would advise you to do this instead

1. Check your existing skills.
2. Identify industries that value customer experience (tech, fintech, logistics, telecom, remote support).
3. Consider remote global customer support roles, they exist.
4. Build skills strategically (short, affordable certifications first).
5. Build a structured 6 month job strategy.

Also, being single at 33 is not a failure. Don’t let societal timelines pressure you into thinking you are behind. A man who builds himself properly will build a stable family later.

At 33, you are not at the end. You are at the redesign stage. And redesigns, when done properly, create stronger structures than the original.

Stand up slowly, think clearly and move wisely.

You still have time.
