What I witnessed tonight from Wemby feels eerily similar to what many felt when they were witnessing LeBron’s 48-special against Detroit.
Ironically they were both taking place in the conference finals at 22 years of age.
It’s a moment where you know you’re witnessing something you’ll likely never see again and also the beginning of something that’s 1 of 1.
@IamKrisLondon Honestly that generation has been dishonest or in denial abt a lot of things outside of sports too. Respect your elders, no doubt. But that doesn’t mean you need to trust them.
If you think nostalgia doesn’t exist in the NBA just remember that we glorify Michael Jordan having the flu in the playoffs, but we’ll forget very quickly that Joel Embiid is out there gutting it out with an open wound after just being in the hospital, and Cade is struggling to breathe at his full capacity after a recently collapsed lung. This generation is “soft” though, I guess…
In the 1st pic, KD & Steph were in high school. LeBron's head coach was in college. SGA was 8 years old. Cooper Flagg wasn't even born.
LeBron averaged 31-7-7 for a 50 win team with Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Drew Gooden & Donyell Marshall as his 3 best teammates. Was MVP runner-up & 1 game from the Conference Finals.
Nobody else compares.
“Jordan is Jordan,” but @BFW and @clubtrillion think the conversation should be over for who’s the greatest basketball player of all-time. @mostlysports
