We are excited to announce that in the next few weeks in conjunction with @salvationarmysf, we will be opening "Hope House." San Francisco’s first abstinence based shelter for the homeless. Leaving your addiction behind is a huge first step to recovery! @SteveAdami
San Franciscans asked for recovery to lead the way in ending homelessness and the drug crisis. We @salvationarmysf in partnership with @SF_DPH are ready to step up and provide it!

Yesterday, in partnership with @wscommservices we opened James Baldwin Place. A 54 bed clean and sober transitional housing program for people who've completed drug treatment. We are bringing recovery back to San Francisco. @DanielLurie@SteveAdami@TheWayOutSF@Twolfrecovery
Drug-free recovery housing should not be controversial. We're in the business of saving and changing people's lives. Thank you, @abc7newsbayarea, for highlighting our work in recovery! @salvationarmysf@SteveAdami@DarrenNorton20

What a nice commendation for @DarrenNorton20 and Mary Norton and @salvationarmysf! It was a lovely moment at City Hall. Thanks @mattdorsey for your support and thoughtfulness!
Yesterday, @DarrenNorton20 and Mary Norton received a comendation from @mattdorsey and the Board of Supervisors for the work @salvationarmysf has done in San Francisco. They brought "The Way Out" to the city. A real pathway off the streets and off drugs.
San Francisco is desperate for recovery. https://t.co/WiLVzFtFYW is working hard to provide a full continuum of care from detox to housing. We should all be working together to end this, not to defend the status quo. @SteveAdami
Health and wellness are key components to our Recovery Housing program. From onsite weight rooms to partnerships with local running clubs, we’re focused on holistic care. This is The Way Out. @salvationarmysf
Our two year drug-free recovery housing program extends recovery from addiction, helps you find a job, or go to school while helping you save money for your future. This is The Way Out. Thank you, @abc7newsbayarea@kunalmodi

Today, Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde boldly called out Donald Trump for his hatred and bigotry at the National Cathedral Prayer Service. Now, the GOP is attacking her for speaking truth to power.

Another great Thanksgiving morning delivering 4000 meals to seniors! Thanks @salvationarmysf! And thanks for volunteering with us for the third year in a row @mattdorsey!
This Thanksgiving, we’re continuing our long-standing tradition of distributing over 4,000 meals to seniors in need across the city. We’re deeply grateful to the hundreds of volunteers who gave their time this morning to make this possible, including Supervisor Matt Dorsey @mattdorsey and TogetherSF @WeAreTogetherSF.
Thank you for helping us bring comfort, hope, and nourishment to our community. Together we’re showing what the spirit of Thanksgiving is all about. 🦃🤎

The sound of the iconic Salvation Army bell means more than just the holidays—it’s a call to hope and healing. Volunteers are ringing in the season of giving, making a difference one cheerful chime at a time.
Captain Chris Wikle from SoMa Corps shared the heart behind this tradition on @KTVU. Let’s keep the spirit alive by supporting our mission to serve those in need this holiday season.
