Food and agriculture are deeply intertwined with our nation’s entrenched history of slavery and structural racism. We hope this list of organizations working to strengthen food justice, land access, and food access in the Black community will inspire you. https://t.co/UPyLNrcf9p

Well put - We’re thrilled to be featured in this list from the @washingtonpost, and proud that our producers either have their own on-farm processing or use small, local processors. It’s an essential system that needs to be supported across the board.
Smaller processors are not only more flexible in a crisis, but they also create good jobs and support their local economies.
If you're interested in supporting an independent meat processors, @timcarman at @washingtonpost has compiled a list:

Meet one of our partnered producers!
Mike Callicrate, owner of Ranch Foods Direct and Callicrate Cattle Co., has been raising cattle since 1986 at his family's farm in St. Franics, KS.
Callicrate Beef uses a mixture of Black Angus and Wagyu breed for their breeding program. While some cattle are purebred Wagyu, most are a hybrid of Angus and Wagyu which results in an incredible Kobe-style beef that is both abundantly marbled and wonderfully beefy!
We partner exclusively with producers who are either able to process their own products, giving us a very short supply chain from farmer to consumer, and all processing is done with the highest concern for animal welfare, worker safety and cleanliness.
from Bytable Marketplace will remain safe, delicious, well-raised, and available.
Thank you to our partnered producers for going above and beyond to help feed the nation high-quality and mindfully-raised meat.
