I can finally start showing some of the tech I made for #TheGunk at @Thunderfulgames. 😃 This is the non-destructive workflow for adding blobs of gunk to a scene. Brush actors generate voxels + raymarched SDF.

Consider how dumb this would sound in any other artistic context. You go to a museum and put on a pair of glasses that changes the paintings. You go to a concert and put on headphones that changes the music. Gaming is tech adjacent in a way that produces really stupid ideas

Using AI to write production code is similar to outsourcing. You are no longer doing the fun stuff: designing and writing high quality code. Instead you: Review bad code N times to make it somewhat acceptable, panic fix bugs in production, maintain ever growing messy code base.

I swear Unreal is so obtuse sometimes. You find a setting like this:

bAllowTrafalgarQuilting

It has this tooltip: "Useful when wanting to allow for Trafalgar Quilting."

Documentation only has that same text. Search online only brings up that one page in documentation.

Once @Microsoft 's Shader Model 7 is released, #DirectX 12 will accept shaders compiled to SPIR-V. Microsoft is working with the Khronos #SPIR and #Vulkan Working Groups to ensure that this transition benefits the whole development ecosystem.
