Vice President Peter McBride recently drove the 1931 Chevrolet Nepean Fire Truck in the Riverside South Community Association Toy Mountain Parade. Here he is about to pick up City Councillor Steve Desroches of Ward 22 (Riverside South and Findlay Creek) for the parade.
What does Dennis say? Dennis is particularly proud of "Autism Santa" when he holds Quiet Santa Hours for the many kids in our society that are on the Autism Spectrum. He says it is very emotional but gratifying. #AutismSanta#QuietSantaHours#Ottawa
Past President Dennis Jones has been the #Santa of choice for many years. But at Bytown we knew him best as either President or Vice President, for more than half a decade. Some health issues recently caused his executive retirement at Bytown.
Last year Dennis won the Best Santa in #Ottawa award. This year he is at it again at @ShopCarlingwood in Nepean. Twitter is full of touching photos and generous accolades for Dennis' communication methods with children.
Our 53rd Help Santa Toy Parade takes place Downtown Nov 19 @ 11am.
It starts at City Hall runs down Laurier Av to Bank St & south to Landsdowne.
Help us build #ToyMountain by donating a new toy, cash, or making a touchless donation along the route!
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
After a fun day and night of Halloween fun, it is important to remember to always blow out any open flames and never leave them unattended.

We encourage you to be extra careful driving on Halloween night. Children are excited and sometimes forget to look both ways to cross the road. Remember to drive slowly and very carefully.

Fire is HOT! π₯
That seems pretty obvious but when contained it can get so hot it can reach temperatures of 1000F!
Have a fire escape plan! #FirePreventionWeek#fireescapeplan#fireishot
Fire is DARK!
Even though it might start out very bright it makes everything completely black causing it to be hard to find people, objects, and passageways. Make sure to have an escape plan.
