Police officer tells a 17-year-old he would take his life after claiming the teen’s car smelled like mar—juana. The officer later claimed the teen reached for a g—n, but dashcam footage appears to contradict his statement.

ALERT: Bodycam shows an officer chasing a fleeing teen, gun drawn, shouting "I'm 'bout to shoot you b*tch" over and over before firing four times into his back.

Detroit Police officer David Gonzalez approached 18-year-old Alonzo Lee-Perkins for having something suspicious in his waistband at the Ford Fireworks.

Lee-Perkins ran off and jumped construction barrels before Gonzalez shot him 4 times, even though Lee-Perkins never turned around.

Lee-Perkins survived the shooting, and Gonzalez's partner, officer Joseph Wafer, later swore in court he never saw a gun and said it could have been a phone or a wallet.

Gonzalez was never charged and was reinstated to full duty on July 20th.

Perkins, who has no criminal record, now faces gun and resisting charges, which his lawyer called the most egregious police shooting of a civilian in recent memory.

NEW: Bodycam shows SFPD officers beating Kevon Gibson into the ICU as public defenders accuse the DA of covering it up

On August 17, 2025, three SFPD officers responded to an apartment building after a resident called about 33-year-old Kevon Gibson.

Bodycam shows them grabbing him, slamming him down, punching him in the head, pulling his hair, and kneeling on his neck while he said he could not breathe.

He spent several days in the ICU before being transferred to jail.

He was charged with criminal threats, three felony counts of resisting arrest, and gun possession.

A jury eventually acquitted him of the felony resisting counts after video contradicted the officers’ claims.

Public defenders say prosecutors tried to hide audio and complaint’s threats

The Public Defender’s Office is seeking the officers’ decertification.
