Considering starting back up the user group. Anyone interested? Would love to find a good place to have the meetings also. Open for suggestions. Comment if interested or have suggestions!
This update fixes the @Link messages issue.
After you connect to wifi enter the command at$update Once the update is complete you will see the Retrolink reboot. Make sure your term program settings are set to modem type Userport and Baud rate 1200. If you had already registered on the server you WILL NOT need to reregister.
Found a glitch with the retrolink IM system. I am working to get it resolved. In the meantime. Just hold off registering on the server. If you already have you may need to reregister. I will update you all once I have this resolved. Sorry! This is what real world testing is for!
RetroLink Orders Update!
I've been working hard to get every last order out the door, but I won’t be able to finish the final few before heading out of town tomorrow. I'm making a quick trip back to PA — this time to finally spend time with my kids and handle a bit of court stuff. The most important part? I get to be with my kids again! It’s been nearly 9 months with little to no contact, so this time means everything.
That said, there are fewer than 10 orders still on the workbench. I’ll ship those out ASAP when I return on Sunday. I truly appreciate your patience and continued support — you guys are awesome.
Have a great week, and thank you again!
Please share with anyone who is asking where the heck I've gone!
A Heartfelt Update
A while back, I opened up about some deeply personal family matters, and your overwhelming support truly touched my heart—thank you all so much for that. Behind the scenes, I’m still navigating some tough challenges, including an ongoing custody case with my wife. It’s meant frequent trips between South Carolina and Pennsylvania for court, hefty expenses for travel and legal fees, and a lot of emotional weight to carry.
Through it all, I’m pouring my energy into commodore4ever, my passion project that keeps me grounded. I’m working diligently to process your orders as fast as I can, and I’m incredibly grateful for your patience and understanding. Your support—both for me personally and for commodore4ever—means the world. Honestly, this community and projects have been a lifeline, helping me push through some of the hardest moments these past few years.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing by me.
I see your point. Would be way more beneficial for the “chat” or IM to be compatible across platforms. This is a good idea for sure and would be simple to implement if every device connected through the same server. It would be that simple really. Does the u64 offer any type of “chat”? I was told earlier today that wic64 has a chat but no IM or email. Email is email and is already standard across all platforms except I don’t believe any other device right now offers it on the commodore?

RetroLink’s first release is here! I am starting small with a limited batch, a true test run. These won’t last long—once they’re snapped up, preorders open. Shipping on preorders begins right after the first batch gets a thumbs up from initial users. So, I am looking for local users from all across the USA and to our fellow commodore-brothers at arms across the seas! Grab them up and let's get chatting!
There will always be multiple options for everything. Look at storage options. There are tons and they all do the exact same thing just with different approaches. The RetroLink started off as a simple upgraded follow up to my original WiFi modem. Then I thought hey why not add in another way to communicate with other commodore lovers so I added in @link instant messages, then hey why not email? The result is a way to actually use our commodores other than a gaming console. It’s more than just a way to connect to WiFi and now that it’s out others will follow with similar IM and email options plus add more. I’m sure the things you mentioned will add these options soon and I’ll add more to what the RetroLink does.
