My role is sort of a 50/50 creative/technical split so idk if it’s helpful, but I really recommend having a version of your craft you can do without thinking that still engages the necessary muscles. For instance, I’m a costume seamstress and in my free time I cross-stitch.
Did any of you ever hit the burnout with art or any other job?
What helped you to get through it? If you ever did..
Would love to hear your experience.
I also really recommend taking a trip to somewhere sparsely populated at least once a year for the sake of your own sanity. I’m a big fan of the Eastern Sierra/Northwestern Mojave area myself.
Find a podcast or something you like, set yourself up with a little project kit of some kind, and just mindlessly go through the motions. It’s like creative yoga.
Exercise is also really helpful if your schedule allows for it, I love weight training.
