I don’t like Elissa Slotkin, but I always respected the skill.

Success in politics seemed to come easy for her. If anyone among the 10 million of Michigan could be president someday, I thought it was her. She avoided that amateurland of Lansing and started out in the big leagues.

Then she started talking sedition and now lawfare. And I am reminded that Michigan does not produce presidents — and why.

It’s because our people talk too much and are unaware of a world beyond their own noses. Only after their words hit air do they weigh and measure them.
