Happy 250th Birthday, America! πΊπΈ
Kim and I have both found ourselves especially emotional as our nation celebrates this historic milestone. Just days ago, it was one of the greatest honors of my life to stand on the National Mall and sing as America officially began its 250th birthday celebration. It was a moment neither of us will ever forget.
Today, we reflect on the courage of our Founding Fathers, the providential hand of God that guided them, and the remarkable victory that secured our independence. We remember the wisdom that gave us the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and we honor every generation of brave Americans who has defended the freedoms we enjoy today.
For nearly 250 years, America has remained a beacon of hope to the world. Ours is a nation founded on faith, freedom, personal responsibility, and the belief that our rights come from God, not from government. Those ideals are worth protecting, celebrating, and passing on to our children and grandchildren.
For more than half of my life, I have had the incredible privilege of singing the song I wrote about my love for this country. It has never been just a song. It has always been my heart.
Tonight, I will have the privilege of once again singing for all of America as we celebrate this historic occasion, standing alongside our great President, Donald J. Trump, in honor of our nationβs 250th birthday. It is a moment I will treasure for the rest of my life.
I wrote these words over 40 years agoβ¦
βIβm proud to be an American, where at least I know Iβm free. And I wonβt forget the men who died, who gave that right to meβ¦β
Happy Birthday, America.

He made the ultimate sacrifice for this country in 2011. ποΈAlthough it seems like yesterday. Thank you for remembering our heroes and the sacrifices made to take care of each one of us. Please take care of each other and show gratitude everywhere possible.
