The time to act is now. California legislators, as budget negotiations conclude, please protect funding for Private Duty Nursing (PDN). Families cannot afford to lose access to this essential care. Please include PDN funding in the final budget sent to Governor Newsom.

🚨 CDPH has released proposed emergency regulations for hospice agencies.
With the public comment period opening June 11, hospice providers have a limited opportunity to provide feedback on requirements that could significantly impact operations and compliance.
CAHSAH will be convening a virtual Town Hall and a members-only collaborative working session on June 9 to help shape comments and recommendations submitted to CDPH.

CAHSAH submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding the proposed FY 2027 Hospice Wage Index and Payment Rule, urging the agency to adopt policies that strengthen access to high-quality hospice care while preserving program integrity.
Our comments highlight concerns regarding inadequate payment updates, the proposed Service and Spending Variation Index (SSVI), and additional administrative requirements that may increase provider burden without effectively addressing fraud, waste, and abuse.
CAHSAH supports targeted, data-driven oversight and practical solutions that protect beneficiaries, strengthen the workforce, and preserve access to compassionate end-of-life care.

At the Table with CAHSAH - Episode 8 is here!
Barry Berger’s story reminds us that success isn’t just about strategy or regulation—it’s about trust, respect, and genuine human connection.
When this legendary home care entrepreneur, executive, and philanthropist talks about his team, caregivers, and clients, you realize that it’s those relationships that sustain a business long after the initial deal is sealed.
His biggest lesson? Relationships are the foundation of everything. When you treat people well, they’ll carry your legacy far beyond profits and boardrooms.
And it’s those same relationships—built on trust and care—that help us navigate personal hardships. Barry’s story of supporting his wife in her final days, and of his team being there for him afterward, is especially moving.
In a world increasingly focused on technology and efficiency, perhaps what matters most is still human connection.
It’s worth thinking about.

Medically fragile children who can't access in-home nursing care end up in hospitals at dramatically higher costs to Medi-Cal. We are urging the CA Assembly to support the Senate's Be Home Soon proposal #FundPDNnow#CAneedsPDN
The math is straightforward. Medically fragile children who can't access in-home nursing end up in hospitals at dramatically higher costs to Medi-Cal. Strengthening access to this care eliminates that unnecessary spend. https://t.co/0TWZ6xt12Z.?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=socialnetwork

Funding for #privatedutynursing (PDN) has not been prioritized for nearly a decade, endangering California's medically fragile children. We need the CA State Legislature to act NOW and invest in funding for PDN. #CAneedsPDN
