🚁 When wildfires grow, California’s response grows with them.
CAL FIRE trains and certifies military helicopter crews so they can safely and effectively support wildfire operations during major incidents. 1/5
Winding fire update 4 PM: Winding Road in Dobbins. 7 acres, 50% contained, no structures damaged or destroyed, no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters will be continuing to mop up hotspots for the next few hours.
Did you know bystander CPR can double or triple the chance of survival after cardiac arrest?
For CAL FIRE firefighters, CPR is a skill that gets practiced over and over because reliability under pressure is built through repetition, not luck.
❤ This CPR Awareness Week, we're encouraging every Californian to get trained. A certification course takes just a few hours. Find a CPR class near you at: https://t.co/pdUfcSuq3Y

Today, we pause to honor the CAL FIRE personnel who gave their lives in service to California in the month of June.
Their dedication came at the highest cost. We honor their sacrifice, remember their stories, and recognize the enduring impact they have left on our department and the communities they served.

🚨 ICYMI: We’re ready.
With temperatures climbing across California, conditions are shifting quickly—making preparedness more important than ever. CAL FIRE resources are already in position, trained, and ready to respond the moment they’re needed.
While fire activity increases heading into warmer months, preparedness is already in motion across the state. Prevention, response capability, and public awareness all work together to help protect lives, property, and communities.
@KPX | CBS News Bay Area recently highlighted this work in a segment showcasing how we’re prepared for heightened fire activity and what readiness looks like in real time.

Please take a moment for your mental health.
As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, take a moment to remember this: mental health is part of your overall wellness— it’s no different than your physical health, and it’s just as important to take care of.
Whether it’s taking a quiet moment, getting outside, meditating, practicing yoga, checking in with someone you trust, or talking with a professional, taking care of your mental health supports a healthier life on and off the job.

Red Flag Warning doesn’t mean a fire has started — it means conditions are primed for one.
Dry fuels, low humidity, warm temps, and strong winds can turn a tiny spark into a fast-moving wildfire.

CAL FIRE/Placer County firefighters are on scene of a vegetation fire near Superior Town Road and Big Hill Road.
Red Flag Warning does not mean a wildfire has started.
It’s a weather alert that tells us conditions are right for a fire to start easily and spread quickly: dry vegetation, low humidity, warm temperatures, and strong winds.
If you live in California, think of it as a “high fire risk day” where even a small spark can turn into a fast-moving wildfire.
Homeowners should prepare by moving anything that can burn inside or away from the home.
On Red Flag Warning days, avoid ALL activities that can create sparks—like mowing dry grass, dragging chains, or using heavy equipment outdoors.
See smoke or fire? Call it in right away.
