Flames lose 4-1 to Vancouver! Really felt like Vancouver was a step ahead in the third period. Thought Honzek looked great! Klapka was good at stirring the pot. Parekh and Nemec making great passes again. Other than that it was another night of low offence Huska Hockey.😡
Really feel like the only Forwards who have a chance at being part of the future are Honzek, Coronato and Gridin.

Sharangovich played with better players last year had 15 goals. Zary played lots of nights in the bottom six had 12 goals. One’s supposed to be a goal scorer but gets three more than the injured 24 year old. These two put up similar numbers last year. if one’s trying and putting in effort you should go with him. If they would give Zary more of a chance I think he would get more than 29 points. Sharangovich by the way only got 29 points last year!

Totally fair! Could just be me as a fan I enjoy watching one more than the other! Just in my opinion I see one player trying to improve and one that’s comfortable. I’m not the only one who thinks Sharangovich hasn’t put in his best effort over the last few years. He got called out last year by Sportsnet after the game for not showing effort. I’ve seen Zary go after players and be a pain sometimes. Never seen Sharangovich do that. The reason in my opinion why Sharangovich has been given favour over Zary or other young guys is because of the long term deal they gave him. I could be completely wrong but just my opinion. What do u see in Sharangovich that I don’t? Just curious not saying ur wrong.

I appreciate Connor Zary is trying to create offence! He used to dangle around the ice and it would work more times than it didn’t. The other night he had a bad game because it wasn’t working and it hasn’t since he got injured. the only way he is a useful player is if he can regain that skill. Getting benched for trying to become a good offensive player again in a team with very little offensive skill is annoying. I’d rather Sharangovich be taken out because I haven’t seen him be close to his 31 goal season in forever. If you were gonna bench someone from the third line I think they picked the wrong guy. It’s not a huge deal just wish Connor Zary could have been given more of a chance to mess up before being benched. Also if they took out anyone from the fourth line for Othmann I would have been fine with that as well.

Game 1 reaction and thoughts.

Simon Nemec was the only player last night I liked. He was all over the ice and was only a minus 1. Parekh looked bad with Middleton they need to switch that before he loses confidence again. We might have the worst forward group the nhl has seen in a few years and if Dustin wolf is gonna play like that all year it’s gonna be bad! Connor Zary and Sharangovich looked impressively horrendous and they need to trade one of them before Huby returns. Backlund looked fine and Honzek was alright as well. Gonna be a long year hopefully it gets more competitive than this.

Idk man he carried Calgary two years ago. He literally gets zero help defensively or offensively. It’s hard for him because if he lets in 2 or 3 they prolly gonna lose. I think he will be fine once the team is better. Also with the cap going up 7 million for a backup goalie would be bad but wouldn’t stop a team from being competitive.

@NHLFlames Losing faith in Huska to develop young talent! Really sucks because seems like a great guy. For a contender I think he would be a great coach but for development idk!🤷‍♂️
