Chuffed to be named a 30 Under 30 winner last night, the first ever journalist from the JC to receive the award ✨ I’m grateful every day that I have the privilege of telling stories and digging into the issues that matter.
There are Lebanese who, to this day, have not forgotten February 14, 2005.
They have not forgotten the sound of the explosion that tore through Beirut, nor the blood of Rafik Hariri spilled on the road.
And when a media figure affiliated with Hezbollah like Amal Khalil comes out and writes, with blatant boldness: “We also killed Rafik Hariri,” boasting and promising that they will continue to kill his “corrupt legacy”…
This is not a “political opinion.” This is an explicit admission of involvement in the assassination of Lebanon’s prime minister.
This is not journalism.
This is militia propaganda disguised as media - one that takes pride in killing Lebanese and destroying the country.
Anyone who justifies or boasts about Hariri’s killing has no right to call themselves Lebanese.
They are merely serving Iranian interests.
What do you think?
Is this journalism - or propaganda for a murderous militia?

.@thetimes@sallyhayd As our colleague from @CAMERAArabic told us, the tombstone describes Mohammed Ali Serhan's slain brother Fadel as a "martyred Jihad fighter".
We'll be complaining to editors, asking them to add this crucial information.
So @cnnarabic interviewed a Houthi leader about whether they plan to enter the war.
He responded with an antisemitic tirade: "The Jews are leading the world toward destruction," and that the Jews use sorcery and magic to destroy civilizations.
@CNN ignored the antisemitism and treated the official with respect. Yemen media gave the transcript with what he really said.
@lilo11 What does it "speak" about, exactly? Do enlighten us, weren't you the one who insisted that "context is crucial"?

Referring to Dahiyeh, S Beirut, & S Lebanon as Hezbollah "strongholds" is lazy & misleading. Hezbollah does not hold an absolute monopoly over these areas. Political parties opposed to Hezbollah operate there & elect their own MPs to parliament. Context is crucial. #journalism
