@Anne_MarieBrady From Congressional Research Service, the [US] Supreme Court holds the US’ foreign affairs power is superior to states and is solely in the national government. In foreign relations, the Court said that “[US] state lines disappear” & the “purpose of the State ... does not exist.”
@JohnBlaxland1@NickBisley PJK moaned that Marles was too involved instead of FM Wong, but the def. min. seems to be the most relevant. Also griped that neither UK nor US put money in. But it's Aus that's buying subs! Doesn't that protect Aus sovereignty, instead of relying on somebody else's $$?
@minatatnga It's stunning to see how ready officials and parts of the public are to jump to a conclusion. Even if we discover nefarious intent on the PRC's part, we should keep a watchful eye on our own assumptions. This is a cautionary tale.
