.@RepChuyGarcia also employs folks with invisible disabilities aka me. I am so grateful for his advocacy and continued support. This Congressman walks the walk.
My wife, Evelyn, is a member of the disability community. She handles the challenges of living with multiple sclerosis with the utmost grace and determination. I am constantly inspired by her and the strength of those with both visible and invisible disabilities.
I joined @Ilhan and our colleagues in urging @POTUS to end ICE contracts with state, county, and local prisons.
We must reimagine a system that upholds the values of human rights and racial justice, not one that fuels mass incarceration.
Workers have sacrificed so much to keep our country going during this pandemic. They risk their safety & many have lost their lives.
The #PROAct would provide workers with a voice on the job so they can bargain for better wages, safer conditions, and dignity on the job. #1u
@PunkPainWarrior 18 at first diagnosis, but it was fairly mild until 25. Then it felt like one thing after another spiraling, multiple surgeries, etc. I almost died of sepsis at 26. And it was that experience that made me say, oh wow this is my life now.
ONLY 3.1 percent of D.C. residents have been fully vaccinated.
And you wonder why the residents of DC are enraged at yet again being tossed aside.
THIS IS ABSURDITY!

@uxiseverywhere@MayorBowser Or those with limited resources, lacking internet, low income families, seniors, folks with learning disabilities. etc. It shouldn't be this hard to not die in the nation's capitol.
Let’s be clear: raising the minimum wage is COVID relief and it's long overdue. The current federal minimum wage is a starvation wage & keeps millions of working people trapped in poverty. We must work with our Senate allies and pursue EVERY available option to #RaiseTheWage.
@_DCHealth Stop blaming it on high traffic when you didn't fix the backend. I tried for an hour, got through only to be told I am not 65. I have multiple chronic illnesses, am on immunosuppressants & have been waiting patiently for DC to finally help the disability community. Do better!
Housing is a human right. It's time we acted like it.
On the blog, @RepChuyGarcia highlights disturbing new research that a nationwide eviction moratorium last year could have prevented over 100,000 coronavirus deaths — and what Congress can do to act.

In a new @DataProgress blog, @RepChuyGarcia discusses a new study showing that a nationwide eviction moratorium would have saved 100,000 lives and calls for the government to make housing a human right. https://t.co/BuBOOhxrY1
Mitch McConnell biggest hypocrite in American politics
Refuses to hold impeachment trial while Trump in office & then acquits b/c not in office
Blocks Merrick Garland 237 days before election but confirms Amy Coney Barrett 8 days before election when 65 million already voted
Today's vote does not absolve the ex-president of his crimes.
The Senate's failure to convict Trump will live in infamy as will the Jan. 6th attack on the Capitol. Donald Trump is guilty. All of us know it and we will never forget.
Our country’s policies should not cause needless suffering to vulnerable communities in sanctioned countries.
Today, I joined @SenWarren & @Ilhan to call on @POTUS to #ReviewSanctionsNow so we can provide relief supplies to those who need them the most.

Essential workers have kept our communities running during this pandemic. It's long overdue to #RaiseTheWage!
A man died from COVID in a Houston jail cell last week because he couldn't afford the $100 bail. He died for the crime of being poor, awaiting trial for the alleged crime of stealing food.
His name was Preston Chaney.
Mass incarceration is a public health crisis.
