In 1979, a plaster dildo was discovered hidden in a box & walled up inside a Nantucket chimney, alongside letters written to Captain James B. Coffin in the 1890s. The items belonged to the Captain’s wife, Martha Coffin, who secreted them away sometime before she died in 1928.
