Population growth was lower rural than in non-rural areas for Canada overall (6.3% in non-rural, 0.4% in rural, 5.2% overall). In NL, overall change in population of -1.8% between 2016-2021 was comprised of +1.6% in non-rural but, -6.4% in rural. #nlpoli @CARE_mun @ECON_MUN

Released this week, Canada 2021 Census main population figures. Graph shows % chg for 2011-2016 & 2016-2021. NL pop grew 1% from 2011-2016 but declined by 1.8% from 2016-2021. NL only province with ⬇️for 2016-2021. NWT also⬇️ 2016-2021 (1.7%). #nlpoli @CARE_mun
