Construction of the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center is complete!

With building construction finished, thr California Science Center's team is moving in, with the installation of 100 aerospace artifacts and production of 100 new hands-on exhibits well underway.

Work on this major building addition concludes 4 years after the June 2022 groundbreaking, nearly doubling our educational exhibit space with 3 multi-level galleries and providing the permanent home of Endeavour exhibited in a towering "ready-for-launch" vertical display.

Our animals are keeping it 💚 GREEN 💚 this St. Patrick's Day! 🍀

For tree-dwelling animals like our green tree pythons, splendid tree frogs, and prehensile-tailed skink, green is the best color to camouflage for safety or lie in wait for prey. 🌳 🐍 🐸 🦎

This Black History Month, we're celebrating Mae Jemison, the first African American woman to go to space 👩🏾‍🚀 🚀

Jemison served as a mission specialist for STS-47 aboard Endeavour, the very space shuttle that will be on display in our future Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center.

The California Science Center will close to the public at 2:00 pm today, February 5, with a last IMAX screening at 2:30 pm.

We expect to resume normal operating hours tomorrow February 6.
