The California Association of Veteran Service Agencies is made up of nonprofit service providers working together to serve California's nearly 2 mil veterans
Supporting veterans goes beyond saying thank you. It means helping ensure veterans and their families have access to resources, opportunities, advocacy, and community support. Learn why this responsibility belongs to all of us:

This Veterans Day, we pause to give thanks to our Veterans and reaffirm our commitment to them.
For more than 50 years, Nation’s Finest has come far in service to communities across California, Arizona, and Nevada. Together, Veterans and their families have begun to feel safe, seen, and strong – perhaps for the first time.
The work continues. As we look to the future, Nation’s Finest will continue to strengthen our support for Veterans, meeting them where they are and helping them reach where they’re meant to be.
You can help us continue this mission. With your support, Veterans and their families receive the essential services they need to build stability, wellness, and a life where they can truly thrive. https://t.co/ENMmD7ewwR

You don’t need to hit rock bottom before asking for help.❤️🩹
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted, you deserve support now—not later. Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.
At Nation’s Finest, we offer supportive mental health programs designed by Veterans for Veterans—because no one should have to carry the weight alone. If you need help, please reach out to us.
If you are in need of emergency mental health assistance, dial 988 and then press one to connect with the Veteran Crisis Line. Support is free, confidential, and available 24/7.
No matter what you’re going through, help is just a call away.❤️

Asking someone if they are thinking about suicide does not increase the risk of it happening — it can actually save a life.❤️🩹
If you’re worried about someone, ask them directly:
✅ “Are you thinking about killing yourself?”
✅ “Have you been thinking about suicide?”
🚫 Avoid phrasing like: “You’re not thinking of killing yourself, are you?” This can make it sound like you don’t really want to hear the answer.
🚫 Don’t wait to ask the question until one person is about to leave because it’s important to give the Veteran the time and space needed to respond honestly.
If the answer is “yes” or say something along the lines of “I just wish I could go to sleep and not wake up” — validate the Veteran’s feelings and stay with them. Together, dial 988 and press 1 to be connected with the Veterans Crisis Line.
Asking directly may feel challenging, but it could be the most important question you ever ask. You have the power to be a lifeline to a Veteran in your life who is struggling.

Unaccredited claims representatives
pose a risk to veterans needing help with benefits claims.
@SenatorBobArchuleta, @CACountyVets, and @caLegion’s #SB694 makes it clear: to charge veterans for help with benefits claims, you need to be a VA-accredited representative.
We stand with CA veterans.
