#VeronaFire Holding at 200 acres, Forward Progression has been Stopped, Copter 535 will remain overhead assisting to take out hotspots and flare ups.

All Air Tankers are Released, expect smoke to linger off the Fire.

Due to increased activity, heavy competition for aviation assets, and in anticipation of continued warm and very dry conditions, Southern California will elevate to Preparedness Level 3 and remain in MACS Mode 2. This will be effective today (May 19th) at 1800 hrs PDT.

#California's snowpack is at 10–20%, a new record low. That number matters more than most people realize.

When the snowpack is low, that moisture disappears faster. Vegetation dries out weeks earlier than normal, and the drier the grass and brush, the easier it ignites, and the faster fire moves through it.

#Fire activity in California does not follow a predictable schedule, and conditions this year are a reminder that preparation cannot wait.
