@BlackshepSusan I found they key to getting off benzos is to be kind to yourself and taper slowly. I got to plateaus, then had to stay at the same dose for months until I could reduce it again. Took me years
The ‘godfather’ of AI Geoffrey Hinton warns it’s not inconceivable AI could lead to the extinction of the human race.
AI researcher & expert Connor Leahy @NPCollapse fears it’s worse than that: “It’s quite likely, unfortunately.”
“We do not know how to control these things.”
“Holy cow!” exclaimed Scott Pelley as he used Bard, Google’s newly released artificial intelligence chatbot.
The technology appeared to possess the sum of all human knowledge, with microchips 100,000 times faster than the human brain. https://t.co/KteSTcG2VI
@CheriDiNovo Only thing I have seen AI do well, is create incredible fakes. Why would we want to invest in this? Oh yes, we gotta stay ahead of the Chinese.
@CheriDiNovo AI seems to be hype without substance. AI is known to hallucinate (polite term for lie). If it is programmed to include ability to deceive (or include errors/hallucinations), & if it is 1M times faster than humans, how can it be competitively fact checked by humans?
@newschannelnine Problem w AI is it hallucinates. If programmed to include ability to deceive (or include errors/hallucinations), & if it is 1M times faster than humans, how can it be competitively fact checked by humans? How can this be a good thing?
@ThePressofAC Remember how in spring of 2023 they were announcing that AI would transform our lives tremendously in 18 months? AI seems to be having a hiccup. They never told us we would need to invest billions give up water & energy to see this. All AI seems to be good at is creating fakes
I agree we need law reform so careless shots fired in public places are treated as 1st degree murder. Lets also have harsh penalties for every careless bullet fired in public places.
Yesterday, Chief @TPSMyronDemkiw spoke about how brazen shootings in public spaces shake the sense of safety and security that Torontonians expect and deserve. He also called for law reform so that fatal shootings in congregate settings are treated as first-degree murder.
Our officers will continue to maintain a visible presence at events across the city and adapt our approach based on specific circumstances, intelligence, and the evolving threat environment.
@CTVNews Just saw the police chief advocating that stray bullets which kill people in these types of shootings should be regarded as 1st degree murder. I agree, but lets add that each stray bullet be counted resulting in 2 yr sentence per bullet to be served consecutively.
@Concern70732755 There ought to be harsh punishment for indiscriminate shootings. Canadians and immigrants, everyone love violence in their entertainment. I agree w reducing immigration, and gun control, but lets add harsher penalties for shootings as well. 2 yrs for each indiscriminate bullet
@MarkJCarney Prayers are nice, but lets also have stricter penalties for indiscriminate shootings. Stray bullets should be counted and result in prison time of 2 yrs each.
@JonFraserTF We need harsher penalties for random shootings, drive by shootings, etc. Indiscriminate discharge of a gun in a city ought to be discouraged w long prison times, unless we want to stay on this merry-go-round of shootings. Lets do more than gun control @fordnation@MarkJCarney
@MarcNixon24 I am a Canadian. @JustinTrudeau licked Trump's boots and was called "governor" for his boot licking. I don't think Trump can be satisfied, so why try?
@DonColbert I love pasta made from durum semolina. Does semolina cause as many problems as pure wheat flour? (Semolina is a component of wheat, like the germ and bran are components) Good talks on @CopelandNetwork
@sarobertson_ I am a Canadian, and do not give a damn about tariffs or nor tariffs. I am offended at threats of military take over of Greenland, annexation of Canada, want more?
@spaikin I think BC & AB attract a disproportion of the discontent. The same happens when we solicit migration from abroad. The unstable/discontent are the ones who respond in disproportion.
@spaikin I was brought up in NB. A friend moved to BC for a "better life," but moved back to NB saying BC was heavily populated by discontent Maritimers. He found it discouraging to live w the complainers of BC. I expect AB is the same.
@spaikin If Alberta is 30% of population of Canada, 50% of AB would be only 15% Canada. How can only 15% initiate a break up? Break up ought to require 50% of the entire population of Canada.
@spaikin I enjoy ur talks on BT. Re Alberta separation, I think it is absurd that 50% of a single province can initiate the break up of Canada. Separation referendums ought to be banned.
“We will have a crash, I just can't tell you when, and I can't tell you how deep. But I can assure you, unfortunately, I wish I wasn't saying this, we will have a crash,” says Andrew Ross Sorkin, financial journalist and author of “1929.”
