Here's something that might cost me my sanity and something I will probably regret!
In anticipation of the culmination of The Multiverse Saga with Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, I am planning to watch/re-watch EVERY MARVEL MOVIE AND TV SHOW EVER MADE!
S01E03: Not All My Power Can Save Me!
Why do the plastic torture chamber looking elevators in Atlantis have automated voice-overs announcing where they’re heading?!
Also Dorma, deserved it! IDC!
First up is Captain America (1944).
Honestly, I went into this with negative expectations ngl, I was pleasantly surprised by it. I'm glad to be diving into some classic Golden Age serial history!
S01E02: The Start Of The Quest!
Namor has literally been on the surface world for ONE DAY and he has already been overthrown as king of Atlantis by Krang?!
What? Lol!
The absolute disrespect to the throne is wild, but honestly, Krang is a BEAST for moving that fast!!!
S01E01: Peril In The Surface World
Okay, the animation here is actually a HUGE step up from the previous slideshows!
Namor literally takes the time to RECHARGE his powers, to get back to full strength, and then immediately gets captured in a NET anyway?
Make it make sense!
Alright next up is Captain America (1966)
This one genuinely surprised me. I went in expecting an animated show only to find out it's basically a motion comic!!
And... they literally photocopied Jack Kirby’s comic book panels, cut them out, n moved them across the screen.
S01E01: Trapped by Loki
Pure Madness! Loki escapes a tree cuz a leaf hit Heimdall in the eye and made him cry. Master of strategy, FR!
But the absolute peak? Donald Blake outsmarting the literal God of Mischief with a cardboard cutout of himself.
I love this show already!
Prime Video's #SpiderNoir receives an official review from the original comics creator, David Hine, who says, "Aunt May would have been scathing":
"I'll enjoy it for what it is. It can't take away from the serious, authentic nature of our comic. If it brings more attention to our books, that can't be a bad thing."
