#TravelTipTuesday: Federal law [31 U.S.C. 5316] requires travelers to report all currency $10,000 or greater to a CBP officer. In addition to being a law, CBP officers have observed that unreported currency may be proceeds from illicit activities.

On Tuesday, Brownsville CBP officers, including a K9 team, inspected a vehicle returning from Mexico and discovered eight packages hidden inside the vehicle. The find led CBP officers to seize nearly 18lbs of cocaine worth around $239K.

Agents & a K9 team encountered 5 bundles of narcotics while tracking a group in a remote area east of Nogales, AZ, Port of Entry. The seizure resulted in 89 lbs. of Meth, 34 lbs. of Marijuana, 24 lbs. of Fentanyl, and 8.7 lbs. of Cocaine with an estimated value of over $534,000.
