And when teachers who are high in agreeableness and conscientiousness do speak up and feel like they are not heard, ignored, or in so many words, told to "get over it" then it leads to resentment, which is one of the reasons many good teachers leave the field.
When teachers have concerns, we need to do a better job of listening. Remember teachers tend to be high in agreeableness and conscientiousness. This means they don't like conflict and even when they feel something is wrong they are often afraid to speak up.
We are doing best by our students when we take care of teachers. As someone once said, "the teacher's working environment is the student's learning environment".
