@naomirwolf It is in some school districts! Here in MA HomeEc is called CASE and Shop is called Engineering.
My husband is an engineering teacher.
Usually taught in middle school.
@naomirwolf My niece & I want to take a cooking class. I told her I want basics like: what’s the proper way to stir? How do I use a knife? Seems ridiculous, but these are things I saw but was never taught. And I know I’m not doing it ideally!
That said, the internet is a new cook’s friend.
@miles_commodore I’m in my 50s and Facebook friends with my high school guidance counselor. On her birthday, I simply wished her a Happy Birthday, telling her that all these years later I still can’t call her ‘Alison’. 😂
@HistoryBoomer Trace evolution back as far as possible? Is that the big bang? Anyways trace it back to wherever we say, ‘and where did that come from?’ that we have no answer to. That’s what I would consider ‘god’s guidance’. If all comes from something, where’d the first something come from?
@NJBeisner In MA they register you to vote when you get your license. Which is brilliant because you need your documentation for that initial license. So my kids were registered to vote 2 years before they could actually vote and were all good when they stepped into the booth 2 years later.
@_Tom_Tee_@Forty1_0 When my son was about 2 they needed to check his sight. They showed a tree, a car, a star. He got them all. Until they flashed a picture of a rotary phone. The doc looked concerned when he didn’t respond and I said, ‘he has no IDEA what that is!’ 😂
@MustangMan_TX Haha. Growing up in the 70s/80s this was completely normal. In fact he’s missing a beer & cigarette.
Do I want to see it? Usually not. But he’s on his own property & he’s allowed.
@CharlesK67@InternetReels If they don’t see, why don’t you tell them? I’m Gen X and yes, we were taught to push through. So it’s quite possible not to see the signs. It doesn’t mean we don’t want to help in some way if made aware. I tell my kids ‘tell me & how can I help?’ Advice? Listen? Intervention?
