Blackpool striker Jake Daniels has come out, becoming the only openly gay male professional footballer in Britain.
The 17-year-old is the first publicly gay man in British men's football since Justin Fashanu.

Recently I've been reflecting on my journey as a TEP and how scary it all felt to begin with. I always questioned how I would get there and worried about messing things up. In the end I realised that all it required was a leap of faith.

Trauma Informed Care is not “Tell me all about your trauma” or “what happened to you?”
Trauma Informed Care is assuming that everyone carries trauma and being sensitive to how that may affect them.
You don’t need to know what the trauma is to be trauma informed.
Another great week on placement:
✔ Training delivered on Trauma-Informed practice
✔ Taking on cases from my link high school

Exciting news today. A piece of research I worked on with fellow TEPs (@RBangs7, @BhradaighEmma & Eoin) was published in the Educational Psychology in Scotland Journal. Hopefully the first of many publications! 🥳🥳

A project I was recently involved in. Lots of lovely art by the children, young people and schools. I encourage you to have a look and reflect on what helped you cope during lockdown.

Here’s artwork by Isabella of @woodburnps on her feelings about COVID. How have you been coping? Share your artwork using the #ResilientMidlothian hashtag. Visit the online gallery and find out more about the project at https://t.co/ZSXkSDXQ8E

Words are important, right? Even though they're not always the first method of expression for ch&yp we must give them the words to express their inner world. We can't know what they're feeling but must ALWAYS give them options. Here's a helpful list by @SusanDavid_PhD#twittereps
Something I've been constantly telling myself since starting training as an EP. Things can seem big, scary and too much. Yet, I'm still doing them and things are working out well. We all need to learn to give ourselves more credit and a bit of a break.

To all Trainee EPs starting today: best of luck! The start of this journey is a bit scary but is (hopefully!) exciting.
To all returning TEPs: keep going, you're doing amazing!
To all EPs: stay strong and look after yourself!
Good luck to all of us going back to school this week. With a new academic year comes new opportunities to be visible and authentic in the classroom as an LGBT+ person.
More great stuff on anxiety from the blessingsmanifest crew - anxiety presents in so many ways - it’s not just those who may be ‘challenging’ but some of the other students may be facing enormous struggles - easy to miss them - let’s ask rather than make assumptions
Back into the swing of things today after a 6 months gap. It was great to get going at @mideps1 and meet some really lovely people! Looking forward to a busy and exciting placement #educationalpsychology
